Federal Information

External Relations focuses on policy areas of significance to Caltech, such as federal funding for basic and applied research, policies governing the conduct of sponsored research programs, and higher education for graduate and undergraduate students. This is achieved by closely monitoring the federal appropriations process and by working with executive branch officials on regulatory policies affecting research institutions and federally funded research and development centers, including the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), which Caltech manages for NASA.
